WRIST
PAIN

Wrist pain is often caused by sprains or fractures from sudden injuries. But wrist pain can also result from long-term problems, such as repetitive stress, arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Not all wrist pain requires medical care. Minor sprains and strains usually respond to ice, rest and over-the-counter pain medications. But if pain and swelling last longer than a few days or become worse, see your doctor. Delayed diagnosis and treatment can lead to poor healing, reduced range of motion and long-term disability.

Some of the symptoms includes:

  • Swollen Fingers

  • Numbness or tingling sensation in the hands

  • Sudden, sharp pain in the hand

  • Difficulty making a fist or gripping objects

  • Weakness in the wrists

  • Decrease range of motions of the wrists

  • Disc Injury
A disc works almost like a shock absorber, but over time they can become worn or damaged. Symptoms of a disc-related injury might include a loss of mobility in the neck, numbness into your shoulder or arm, and weakness in your neck.
  • Stiff Neck
Difficulty moving the neck sideway without turning the entire body. It may also be accompanied by a headache, neck pain and shoulder pain or arm pain. In most cases, pain and stiffness go away naturally within a week.
  • Whiplash
Whiplash injury occurs when there is a sudden jolt to the head and neck in any accident that may cause a forceful back-and-forth motion. Motor vehicle accident is the most common cause behind the whiplash injury, but can also happen in sports or other trauma.

Conditions we treat but are not limited to include:

  • Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex (TFCC) Injury

  • Fracture

  • De Quervain’s Tendinopathy

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Tendinopathies of the wrist
